New messaging app Daze is threatening to dethrone popular platforms – with a waiting list of over 150,000

This is the hottest messaging app on the market – but it’s not available yet.

Daze, a new app that caters to the younger generation, is already making waves online ahead of its official launch in the coming weeks. And although it hasn’t debuted yet, it’s already amassing over 100,000 followers on TikTok, where posts receive over thousands, if not millions, of views.

Threatening to dethrone popular messaging platforms, Daze already has a waiting list of around 156,000 people before it officially becomes available on November 4th.

“Our goal with Daze has been to create a full-featured messaging app that’s competitive with iMessage, WhatsApp, etc., while still having a bunch of really fun and creative features,” founder Willem Simons, an entrepreneur based in New York, told TechCrunch. in New York. .

The interface takes a free-form approach to messaging – much like creating an Instagram Story, the app allows users to experiment with text placement, fonts and colors, rather than uniform message bubbles.

“You can quickly write a message and press send or drag the message anywhere within the conversation,” Simons said. “It’s easy to use and utilitarian, but also very cheap and unlimited.”

And it seems to be a hit among the tech generation, who are upset about the social media app’s aesthetics.

“This is the cutest thing ever,” commented one viewer.

“I’d love to send messages on the app,” said someone else.

“IT’S MORE,” wrote another excited user.

The next-gen app is currently in beta testing with about 1,400 invite-only users, per Tech Crunch, most of whom are Gen Z, ages 13-22.

The app, which has a 60-day retention rate of more than 50%, is also experimenting with AI features.

Artificial intelligence has become a hot commodity among the general public as chatbots and generative AI are integrated into everyday life, from Apple’s AI to ChatGPT.
